Yesterday we started class with a look at some common expression with the word LET. “Let” is used in the imperative, for example, Let’s go to the movies tonight. There are also several expressions that use “let” such as let it be – take another look at the expressions we reviewed in class here 10 Everyday English Expressions with the Word LET and don’t forget the holiday phrase – let it snow!
We use lots of symbols and emoticons such as 😉 and . Yesterday we looked at letters of words as images. Letters can be used creatively to make images that are unique and interesting. Take another look at the video “Word as Image” and see how many of the words you know
Next we had a lively and interesting discussion of holiday celebrations in your own countries- Italy, Haiti, Bulgaria, Mexico, Vietnam, China, Iran, Russia, Portugal, Poland, Russia. Thanks everyone for sharing your holiday traditions, customs, food and activities – it was great!
Yesterday was out last class of 2014, and I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year! I also want to thank each and every one of you for sharing your ideas and making each class a lot of fun. I’ve learned so much from all of you and look forward to learning and growing together in 2015! Let’s have another great year together!
